Awesome.

So, Janni was complaining about me not updating. Well, I've finished all my exams now, so I can.

Dad and I have been planning again and again and again. We've got our hotel in Keflavik now. We are no longer just bums in the middle of Iceland! YEAH.

There's not much concretely planned yet, but that's really because I have no time to do that. However, I have been writing them all down in my daybook, to be shared with my dad by Friday. Yeah. I should update by then.

It may not seem like it, but I AM SO EXCITED. Nervous too.

Yeah, I'm terribly nervous about meeting my penpal, Josefin. We get along well, so I have no worries about that at all, but I get really quiet when I'm first meeting people, no matter how long I've known them. All my mouth wants to emit is an "uh hi" or a "yeah". Eventually I shed my awkwardness, but I hope Josefin doesn't get offended at my behaviour. Apparently she gets really huggy and chatty, so I can do my very best to deal with that. Yay.

That's all for now, kids. Sorry if I suck, Janni!

I'll update this weekend. I promisepromisepromise.

Hotel!

Well well well. We sat down today, the dad and I, and we booked our hotel in Göteborg. This is beyond exciting. Sooooooo.. yeah. Staying at the Hotel Gothia Towers. Very pretty. Very wonderful. Very... high up. -gulp-

I'm not terribly afraid of heights, but sometimes, I am. Our room (well, a sample photo of a room that is of the same type we chose) is very pretty. I like it a lot. Here's a photo.

That's all today. Josefin and I still have to plan stuff.

jet lag.

I am dreading jet lag. Oh god, how I am dreading jet lag.
See, when I went to Spain (the rest of that bullshit's a good story for another time), I was horribly affected and never got over it. Some days, I woke up at 1pm or so, and by then, the day was too far gone to do much. Of course, I woke up on time most days, and was able to take horseback riding lessons with my crazy German instructor, but still. On those days, I would end up watching the chickens my uncle kept for a while, or watching Desperate Housewives (luckily I could change the audio feed to English. yeesh.).

What if I do that in Sweden, oh beloved readers (of which, so far, I have one)? (Hi, Janni, by the way.) I don't want to waste my days away waking up at 1pm and watching subtitled Desperate Housewives. I will need to bring a huge bottle of melatonin pills, or something. I just don't want this stupid jet lag BS to ruin my trip. My sleep schedules are already bizarre. I hope I can get some control over them.

First. Hahaha.

Ha! So I shouldn't be doing this at all. I'm far too behind on more important things to consider even creating this silly blog thing. But here I am, with a blog that's no longer green. Decided it was a bit ugly.

Anyways, enough about what I've done, what I haven't done and what I should be doing. This is about this summer. On July 19th, I am taking a plane from Pearson Int'l Airport (YYZ) and going to Reykjavík (through Keflavík int'l (KEF)) for a day. We arrive on the 20th, so... hm. On the 21st of July, we'll be going from KEF to Stockholm (Arlanda (ARN)). From there, we're taking the train to Göteborg. See, I have this fantastic penpal there. Her name's Josefin, and she's probably one of my best friends. I don't remember when, but one of us got the crazy idea that I should go to Sweden and visit her. I talked about it with my dad. He took me seriously. We're going. After a week with the Josefin creature, Dad and I are going back to Stockholm for a few more days, then jetting home. Might throw Helsinki in the mix there somewhere. Gives me an excuse to send out postcards with bad puns all over them.

Besides the plane tickets and a hotel room in Stockholm, Dad and I haven't planned much else, let alone booked hotels in the other two cities. We have basic, loose plans, but we're supposed to talk to the Swedes we're visiting about what we want to do. I'm working on that along with everybloodything else I have to do. Maybe I'll do that right now.

I guess this is just an intro post.
See you around.
